Mental Health Therapy

Did you know? Research shows that the MOST significant indicator of someone’s success in therapy is their relationship with their therapist!

Therapy is about finding what works for you, and my approach centers primarily on building a strong, collaborative, trusting relationship to help you achieve your goals. Whether you are enthusiastic about starting therapy, or feeling a bit resistant and unsure of how it can actually help you— I aim for our therapy sessions to be a place where you can “come as you are”. It is important to me to tailor therapy to fit your unique needs.

I understand that therapy can feel intimidating. I approach these concerns with patience, understanding, and even humor when appropriate. I like to “roll with resistance”. Together we will come up with goals that feel authentic and manageable.

My style is relaxed, yet intentional— I’ll meet you where you are at while gently challenging you to grow and explore new perspectives. I am serious about providing exceptional care while also keeping the experience approachable and human.

My goal is to help you navigate challenges, reduce your symptoms, manage stress, feel like yourself again, set boundaries, increase confidence, and any other change that is meaningful for you.

Some modalities I utilize in my approach: Motivational Interviewing (MI), Strengths Based, aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Relational Therapy.

Clinical Support in Legal Proceedings

As a social worker, I approach each case with a well-rounded perspective and a focus on achieving outcomes that reflect the client’s unique situation and strengths. Often times, having clinical information and insight can offer a deeper understanding of a person’s mental health, background, and personal circumstances that might not otherwise be considered.

I am currently accepting cases relating to the following:

  • Biopsychosocial assessments

  • Substance use evaluations

  • Risk assessments

  • Mitigation reports

  • Treatment recommendations

  • Discharge planning

  • Finding placements

  • Finding and coordinating community resources

  • Assisting client with accessing needed services or supporting them with implementing an Action Plan or treatment plan

  • Collaborating with providers, attending treatment meetings

  • Obtaining/reading/summarizing medical or mental health records

  • Parole cases

  • And more—just ask!
